Die Software EmailNotifier ist eine Erweiterung für fast alle E-Mail-Programme (z.B. Outlook, oder Outlook Express). Sie hängt jeder ausgehenden E-Mail einen (auf Wunsch sogar unsichtbaren) externen Link an. Sobald der Empfänger die Nachricht öffnet, wird der Zugriff des externen Links protokolliert. Der Absender erhält so Informationen über Datum, Uhrzeit und IP-Adresse des Lesevorgangs. Die Empfangsbestätigung erfolgt so ohne direkte Aktivierung durch den Empfänger im Hintergrund.
