IS-IT-Legit is a company software audit program that unobtrusively examines the software installed on every computer connected to the company Local Area Network. It then reports back, in HTML format, to an Administrator. In particular it lists the software applications which have been installed on each PC, by PC name. The Administrator may then use this data to see the total amount of, say, MS Office XP Pro installations in the company. This can be compared to the actual number of Licenses held by the company to see if there is a shortfall.. IS-IT-Legit also checks if there are software applications installed on users' PCs which the company would prefe rthe use not to have installed.
