On-screen Word-extracting. PowerWord's 'On-screen word-extracting' function allows real-time translation of Chinese/English words or phrases at any location on the screen, i.e. Chinese-English bi-directional translation. PowerWord completely supports word-extracting in Windows NT, Internet Explorer 4.0/5.0 and Acrobat (PDF format) environment. Explanation of the Chinese/English words so extracted will be displayed in the floating window on the screen. Users may disable or resume the 'On-screen Word extracting' function at any time. 'On-screen Word extracting Enabled' is the default status after PowerWord setup. High intelligence
PowerWord may automatically capture tense and property change of English words, and adjust size of the floating window and number of text lines according to the contents of display. The floating window provides several shortcut buttons, including 'Dictionary Lookup', 'Copy', 'Internet Search', 'Read' and 'Window Fixing'. Moreover, PowerWord may display transparent floating window not shadowing the text and image on the screen, which facilitates your query.
Dictionary Lookup
higher speed and more powerful function. Simplified Chinese/Traditional Chinese switchover allows character displaying either in simplified font or complex font. Wildcard matching of words and phrases is supported and more sophisticated algorithms allow words tracing via fuzzy memory in case of inaccurate enter. Completely support Internet search option.
User's Dictionary
In 'User's Dictionary', you may add Chinese/English words unavailable in PowerWord. After the 'User's Dictionary' is loaded and saved, PowerWord will be available to define the words added and display the meaning of the words in the floating window. In addition, the user may set to disable the 'User's Dictionary'.
Multiple Word extracting Options
PowerWord supports multiple 'point-and-translate' options. Besides direct Word extracting with pointer move, PowerWord allows the user to customize key combinations for Word extracting , e.g. extract words by pressing the central button of mouse, 'Shift' or 'Ctrl' when moving the mouse. Wider choice may better cater to users' demands. Users may enable this function in the 'On-screen Word extracting' in the 'System Setup' window.
Diversified Interface
With multiple choices in hand, users may select favorable interfaces according to their interests and tastes, allowing a more user-friendly environment.
