RegBin is a registry comparison tool designed to accurately compare two registries and report all registry keys that have been added, removed, modified, or unchanged. It displays these differences in an easy to view grid format with the option to filter out unwanted data and print out a report of the results, or optionally create a new .REG file based on the results. Although there are several test tools available that help in locating modified keys in the registry, none of them provide the accuracy along with the reporting, and ability to export a new .REG file. For instance, while WinDif will compare two .REG files and display the results, if any of the registry keys are in different positions, it will mistakenly report those keys as having been removed and then added. While RegBin may be a little slower when comparing large REG files, the results are always 100% accurate because it is designed specifically for registry file comparisons. Having the ability to filter results and create a new .REG file is another feature that makes RegBin unique. As an example, suppose a user needs to find out exactly what keys were added in build 2 of a product that were not previously in build 1. First the user would run a comparison on the two .REG files, then filter out all of the results except what has been added. Then with that information, the user can print out a report of those specific added keys, and then create a new .REG file containing only those new added keys to compare against future builds.
