Packagesoft NPM Pro 2014 is the easiest way to manage settings on client computers that connect to multiple networks. When a known network connection is established, NPM automatically configures the client to suit. For example, when employees work from multiple company locations where each location requires specific client configuration to access the Internet, NPM makes the transition between these locations seamless. This is particularly useful where employees have restricted system access or have limited computer knowledge. NPM achieves this by matching the current network characteristics to a Profile and then applying each of its associated Actions. NPM Pro provides two types of Profile; Corporate and User. Corporate profiles are created and managed via the NPM Designer and can then be exported to Active Directory for central management. Corporate Profiles cannot be modified or deleted by the User. Depending on the corporation's policy regarding company computer use and access to the internet outside a VPN, each user can specify their own User Profiles that match either their home or other frequently used locations ensuring internet access is always available. In addition to profile management, corporations can use NPM 2014 Pro to manage Wi-Fi connections based on the availability of a LAN. For environments where Wi-Fi connections are limited, NPM can be configured to disable the Wi-Fi device, disconnect all Wi-Fi connections or disconnect a specific Wi-Fi connection (based on a SSID) when a laptop is physically connected to a corporate LAN.
