AIM ActiveX allows the amateur VB programmer to create an application that interacts with AOL Instant Messenger. AIM ActiveX has four MAIN functions which are: - Send text to a chat
- Send an IM to a user
- Read the last chat line (user and what they said)
- Monitor incoming IMs (user and what they said)
Other functions are included as 'extras', such as CloseAllIMs, AIMIsOn, GetUserSN, and FindandKillErrors. These are just small helpers to help you with your application. Descriptions of these are available in readme.html.AIM ActiveX was tested on AIM 4.8 Build 2790 which was current at the time AIM ActiveX was released, which was July 13th 2002. If you find that a function doesn't work on a newer version of AIM, and you're SURE you've programmed it right, email me at tim@snipples.com and I'll start a newer version of AIM ActiveX. ;) Registering will remove the nag screen and entitles you to receive newer versions at no extra charge.
