"Beim Klabautermann. Kôpten Blackbeard hat seinen Schatz vergraben. Mehrere Piratenmannschaften bekommen Wind von der Sache und steuern eine kleine verlassene Insel in der S¹dsee an. Mit dem Spaten bewaffnet wagen sich die einbeinigen Seerôuber auf das Eiland, um so viel Gold zu finden, wie es nur geht.
Die Insel im Spiel ¬Pirate Islesë ist 4x4 Felder gro- und bleibt zunôchst unter dichtem Nebel verdeckt. Die Viermaster der Piraten landen an den Seiten der Insel an. F¹r alle Teams, die sich an der Schatzsuche beteiligen, gelten die gleichen Startbedingungen. Noch haben alle die gleiche Chance, sich des fremden Schatzes zu bemôchtigen. Das ôndert sich, sobald der erste Spieler an der Reihe ist: Er darf einen W¹rfel rollen. Abhôngig von der Zahl der Augen auf dem W¹rfel hat der Spieler einen bis sechs Z¹ge zur Verf¹gung, die er nun ausf¹hren darf.
Ein Mausklick auf das eigene Schiff blendet Markierungen in den 3D-Spielplan ein. Sie zeigen auf, welche Schritte zurzeit gerade m¡glich sind. So kann das Schiff langsam um die Insel herumfahren. Besser ist es allerdings, einen der eigenen Piraten aus dem Schiff zu holen und ihn auf die Insel zu stellen. Jedes neue Feld, das der Pirat in der Folge betritt, kostet einen Bewegungspunkt. Die einzelnen Felder bergen stets die eine oder andere -berraschung. Gut sind nat¹rlich die Goldfelder, die einen Teil des Schatzes enthalten. Leider sind die Piraten nicht sooo stark. Maximal einen Sack Gold k¡nnen sie tragen. Er muss ins Schiff gebracht werden und ist erst jetzt in Sicherheit. Unterwegs kann es leicht zum Kampf der Piraten kommen, wenn zwei von ihnen das gleiche Feld betreten. Der unterlegene Pirat wird per Kinnhaken ins Boot zur¹ckbef¡rdert und muss das mitgef¹hrte Gold abtreten." - Carsten Scheibe, Stern
